The San Marcos activity center celebrates its 25th anniversary; Figaro’s Pizza & Pub closes and more local business news



A store called Brooklyn Jayne opened May 1 at 102 Wonder World Drive, Ste. 302, St. Mark. Brooklyn Jayne also celebrated five years in business as an exclusively e-commerce retailer. The store specializes in women’s clothing, including tops, dresses, skirts and more, as well as shoes, bags and other accessories. Everline Coatings and Services opened a new location June 1 at 1111 Deertrail Drive, San Marcos. Everline has locations nationwide, including Colorado, Ohio and all of Texas, offering residential and commercial pavement maintenance, pothole repair, power washing and more. The Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation began taking patients July 5 at 2041 N. I-35, Ste. 205, St. Mark. The new outpatient therapy clinic offers physiotherapy treatments and some recovery and reconditioning treatments that can help overcome the lingering effects of COVID-19. The San Marcos Activity Center celebrated its 25th anniversary on June 30. The activity center, located at 501 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, was approved by voters in a $5.3 million bond election in May 1994 and opened to the public in 1997. The expanded center in 2001 of nearly 4,000 square feet and recently reopened in May after a seven-month closure due to flooding. The center offers a variety of classes, both in-person and virtual, and members have access to basketball courts, aerobics studio rooms, an indoor pool and more. Little Guys Movers in San Marcos will be celebrating its 25th anniversary since opening in August 1997. Little Guys Movers offers many moving services including local, long distance, residential, commercial, on-site moving, packing items and loading and unloading articles. “[Our goal] is to help alleviate customer stress,” said San Marcos general manager Todd Apple. Figaro’s Pizza & Pub, located at 243 Wonder World Drive, Ste. 100, San Marcos, announced its closure via Facebook on June 29, with June 30 being the last day open. The franchise location was started by brothers Greg, Jack and Jeff Harper. Le Figaro celebrated five years in business in May and served a variety of pizzas, pastas, burgers, sandwiches and more.
